1959 GMC/Chevrolet Apache Stepside.101 Series 1/2 ton short bed Pickup with 3 speed manual transmission. Relatively rare GMC version of the twin headlight Chevrolet Apache.Fitted with a 350 5.7 V8 along with Edelbrock carburetor,Edelbrock inlet manifold and chrome rocker covers.15 inch Rally wheels, chrome hubcaps and trims.
An exceptional rock solid example that has just been repainted in 1950's GM Flame Red with cream roof and grill.New bench seat in matching red and cream with red piping and door panels in contrasting cream.Complete with new weather seals, new edged black carpeting and matching headlining and new sound proofing. For repainting the rear body was removed to reveal a rust free chassis-which is quite outstanding for a 54 year old vehicle.Has spent its life in a dry Southern State until its first importation to the UK in 2007.The pickup bed has been fitted with a new hardwood and galvanized steel floor and new tailgate chain set.
Being pre-1960 this does not now require an MOT.However we feel common sense dictates it should so it has been given a new certificate which runs through to August 2014.It is of course road tax free and currently licensed until May 2014.We have just fitted a new Summit chrome air cleaner, new battery, new fuel pump and given it an oil and filter change.Previously converted to a 12 volt system and fitted with an auxiliary electric cooling fan.
This is an exceptional example of classic 1950's American motoring that draws fond attention wherever it goes-and now reduced by £1000.
