Short description

1973 Marathon Spec Datsun 240Z

Built in 2014 for the ERA Road to Mandalay endurance rally by acclaimed Datsun Z specialist builders The Z Farm.  However due to unforeseen circumstances it was not possible to join the event and has been kept in dry storage as part of the owner’s private collection ever since.

An exceptional build based on an ex-California 240Z integrated with a UK body shell and converted to RHD.  Reinforced Chassis legs, Sills, Safari-spec front Turret reinforcement, lowered Seat mountings, seam welded panel joints. Fitted Alloy Underfloor protection plates, Rollover Hoop. Thermal Heat Insulation.

The 2.8 engine reconditioned and blueprinted with 274 camshaft. Standard Compression ratio, standard 240Z Carbs and Inlet Manifold. K&N Air Filter, Heavy Duty Starter Motor. Ceramic coated tubular exhaust manifold. Triple core Radiator.

Reconditioned 200SX 5-speed gearbox on Safari spec mountings. Heavy Duty Clutch. R200 Diff with Quaife LSD on Kameari Comp-Spec Mounting Bar. Bilstein Rally-spec McPherson Struts and springs, 4-pot Callipers on Vented Discs to front, Drums to rear.

The above is only a sample of this outstanding cars specification and its full technical specification is contained in a 5-page document available on viewing. A number of spare parts to be carried for endurance rallying are also available.

In 2014 the built cost for this was in excess of £50000 and if attempted today to the same exacting build quality and specification would be considerably more.
