An opportunity to acquire a multi award winning Mustang convertible with the 260 cu in V-8 engine and automatic transmission. Fully restored in 2013/14, and comprehensively documented in monthly editions of Classic American Magazine, over the period September 2014, to November 2015. A complete binder with the magazines will be passed to the new owner, together with the original handbook showing the first lady owner in Ohio and the supplying Ford dealer Dan Rohyans, of Columbus Ohio.

Re-finished with clear over base Glasurit paint in its original rare and sought after factory colour of silver smoke grey. The black vinyl interior has been renewed, as has the convertible top. Other factory options, aside from the V-8 engine and auto transmission include a power convertible top, a centre console, handbrake warning light and power steering.

During the restoration, inertia reel front seat belt mountings were welded into the the body structure and inertia reel seat belts fitted for improved safety over the old lap belts. All original outer panels have been retained and re-metalled where necessary with excellent panel fit. Full length floor pans were fitted as well as new front torque boxes. A set of period correct wire wheel covers, further enhances this striking car. Four way hazard warning lights have been added as well as and an oil pressure gauge, positioned discreetly below the dash.

The 260cu in (4.3 litre) engine has been fully overhauled including a re-bore to +30 thou, with new pistons and rings. The crankshaft was re-ground and polished to -10thou, and a new front balance pulley fitted, with the full rotating assembly balanced at Basset Down balancing in Hungerford. During this engine overhaul, new camshaft bearings were fitted, as well as an up- grade timing chain and oil pump drive shaft.

The oil, fuel and water pumps were replaced, as were the engine core plugs. The cylinder heads have been re-ground and new un-leaded valve seats fitted. The duel range, green dot transmission was rebuilt with a full kit and works well. A good deal of time was spent to ensure the body kept accurate alignment by using a substantial jig assembly.
