1968 Ford Mustang 302 V8 Coupe with 5-speed Tremec T5 manual gearbox. Restored and upgraded finished in beautiful and period Meadowlark Yellow with Black bucket seats and interior. This 68 Mustang has been restored and tastefully upgraded throughout. The exterior is complemented by black factory side decals and REV 5-lug polished alloy wheels.
At the heart of the car is a fully rebuilt 302 V8, expertly prepared by Ken Coleman (engine-data.co.uk), paired with a Tremec T5 five-speed manual gearbox featuring a Hurst shifter. The cabin benefits from a Mustang wood/alloy steering wheel and a completely renewed interior trim.
Braking and steering have been significantly improved with 13-inch front disc brakes from Street or Track, a new Wilwood master cylinder, upgraded power steering, new steering column and rack, and a McLeod racing clutch. The suspension has also been extensively upgraded with Street or Track coil-over front suspension—fully adjustable, tubular, and rose-jointed—all new rear leaf springs, polyurethane bushings throughout, rear traction bars, larger front spindles, new bearings and hubs, and stainless braided brake lines.
The drivetrain features a rebuilt Ford 8-inch rear end with 3.00:1 gearing and new axles. Additional chassis improvements include a Global West Monte Carlo bar, new shock-tower braces, a big-block radiator filled with Evans waterless coolant, and a full Flowmaster stainless-steel dual exhaust system with ceramic-coated JBA headers. The car also benefits from a Retro Bluetooth stereo system and a custom-built removable centre console.
Engine Specification:
The 302 V8 is fitted with a performance camshaft offering increased duration at 0.50 for improved high-RPM performance. The engine has been bored 0.40 over and fitted with new pistons and connecting rods. Induction is via an Edelbrock RPM intake and a QuickFuel billet aluminium double-pumper carburettor. Additional upgrades include Ford Racing valve covers, a PerTronix ignition system, a new QuickFuel fuel pump, and fresh AN-fitted fuel plumbing.
Originally selected in California by its first U.K. owner, this Mustang arrived in Britain in 2016 and immediately underwent a full bare-metal restoration. Importantly, the car started with a solid, never-welded shell before being refinished in its correct factory colour and reassembled with all new interior components.
Previously supplied by ourselves, this no-expense-spared Mustang drives, handles, and sounds exactly as a well-sorted, performance-focused classic should. For buyers seeking a high-performance Mustang, this example stands out. Supplied with its Marti Report, history file and 1968 Owner’s Manual.
