The Best In The World? Lipstick Edition

Could this be the best Lipstick Edition in the world? Welcome to the 1976 Lincoln Continental MKIV Lipstick Edition 460 V8 Auto. This incredible example is in original, unrestored and outstanding condition. The car itself has only covered 12,800 miles from new. Only 1254 ‘Lipstick Editions’ were every built and this is the believed to be the only example in the UK and there are said to be around 50 left worldwide.

Not only is this a unique 70’s time machine but a multi-show winning car with several trophies and silverware accompany the comprehensive history and magazine features. The American Auto Club UK valued the car in May 2013 at £40,000 and there is documentation from the Club to say the car won ‘Best in Show’ at the AACUK Spring Nationals.

So what’s the history behind the car? It was supplied new by Villers Motor Sales Inc in Vienna, West Virginia. Manufactured on the 25th March 1976, five days ahead of schedule. The Lincoln has a superb specification and was ordered with White custom Landau vinyl roof, power moon roof, White paint stripe, C-6 automatic transmission, Traction-Lok differential, Headlamp Convenience Group, radial white wall tyres, speed control, tilt steering column, reclining passenger seat, White premium body moulding, rear window electric defroster, AM/FM/Quad 8 track stereo, interval wipers, Luxury Group, Security Lock and Appearance Protection Group, right hand remote control mirror, power lock and aluminium wheels.

Since 2012 the Lincoln has covered 3000 miles, present on the Classic American Club stand at the NEC Classic Motor Show in 2013 and is not only known for its outstanding condition but provenance. The high level of trophies with the car clearly indicates what a special car this is. The bodywork is quite simply outstanding, as is the paintwork, chrome, roof and wonderful original upholstery. The carpets are still as brand new, the leather trim beautiful and the headlining, door cards and dashboard first class.

Once sold, an example which will be near enough impossible to replace.
